AWE looking to raise $23m for Oz projects

Australian Worldwide Exploration is looking to raise $23 million via a placement and share purchase plan to fund its raft of Australian projects. Already $18.6 million has been raised via a placement of 23 million shares to institutional investors at 81c. The placement was heavily oversubscribed, according to AWE.

The company said the funds would be used for growth projects such as the Cliff Head oil discovery (AWE 27.5%), the purchase of an additional 7% stake in the BassGas Project (AWE 37.5%) and the Beharra Springs North gas field discovery (AWE 33%).

AWE also announced the introduction of a SPP to raise $4.7 million. All Australian and New Zealand shareholders will be able to subscribe up to $3000 worth of shares at 81c.
