Director Eric Hughes was very happy having achieved the transaction, saying he was looking forward to invoicing for a full months gas sales. He estimated a full month’s production would yield around US$600,000 for the company.
He hoped that a regular income stream from Turkey would start to attract some institutional investors onto the share register.
Amity Oil has kicked off its third well in the Gocerler Field with the spudding of appraisal-development well, Gocerler-3. The well is located about 600 metres east-southeast of the Gocerler-1 well and is designed to provide a third gas-condensate production well on the Gocerler gasfield.
Hughes said they had another customer who was almost ready to take gas. “We hope they will be online at the start of next month. This is why we need to bring another well online.”
Last week the Turkish ambassador visited the Amity office headquarters in West Perth to congratulate the company on its achievement of becoming Turkey’s second largest gas producer.
It was His Excellency, Mr M Tansu Okandan’s, first trip visit to Western Australia and congratulated Amity chief, Peter Allchurch, on opening up the Turkish gas market and providing a source of competition for gas users.
