Russia’s Lukoil has been given the go-ahead to develop three blocks in the Persian Gulf.

According to Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs, Mohammad Hadi Nejad-Hoseynian, “Russia’s Lukoil has agreed to bid for development projects in North Azadegan, Kushk and Hoseynieh fields.”

According to Mohammad, the Russian giant is serious on following up offers to develop 16 oil blocks in the Middle Eastern nation, which the National Iranian Oil Co put on tender for E&P. So far, it has only bid for four, explained the official.

The blocks on tender are: Moghan I and II, Kouh-Dasht, Khorramabad, Kermanshah, Bijar, East/West Makran, Zabol, West Jazmourian, Saravan, Tabas, Garmsar, Saveh, Raaz and Maraveh Tappeh. The blocks are located both onshore and offshore.
