Indonesia, Sempra will ink LNG deal: Purnomo

Speaking to reporters at the Fifth International Conference of the Joint Oil Data Initiative, Purnomo said, “The agreement will be signed in San Diego. The contract with Sempra will bring the total amount of LNG volume secured by the Tangguh project to over 7 million tons a year, enough to justify the development of two processing plants initially.”

While the Minister did not elaborate further, under the terms of a preliminary agreement, Indonesia will begin supplying 3.7 million tons of LNG per annum from 2007 onwards to Sempra’s proposed LNG terminal near Ensenada, Mexico.
