Prayers answered for Parsons-2

THE Beach Petroleum-operated Parsons-2 appraisal/development well, in Cooper Basin permit PEL 92, is being completed as an oil producer from the Namur Sandstone, co-venturer Cooper Energy said yesterday.

Prayers answered for Parsons-2

This follows confirmation by wireline logs that the well has intersected a 6.5m gross oil column in the Namur reservoir, with the same oil-water contact as Parsons-1, in line with pre-drill expectations.

First oil production at the Parsons oil field is expected next month from the Parsons-1 and Parsons-2 wells.

Beach is operator and holds a 75% stake in PEL 92, while Cooper has 25%.
