Worrior wounds Stuart production

STUART Petroleum has posted revenue of $17.3 million for the quarter ended March 31, down 14% from the previous quarter, due to lower production from the Worrior oil field.

Total production for the quarter was down 7% to 175,760 barrels while the average price of oil the company sold was $98 per barrel, down from about $106.5/bbl in the previous quarter.

This was due mainly to the shut-in of the Worrior production facility for repairs following the failure of a pump and mechanical issues in the Worrior-6 wellbore.

Stuart said an additional pumping unit is being installed at Worrior to provide additional artificial lift capability and increased redundancy. This is scheduled to come online in July.

Meanwhile, Stuart's share of production from the Acrasia oil field was 3742bbl for the quarter after the water disposal capacity of the surface facility was upgraded, commissioned and brought online in January.
