ExxonMobil's oil sands folly

TEXAS-based supermajor ExxonMobil has wiped about $US16 billion ($A21 billion) worth of oil from its balance sheet, with nearly all of the 3.3 billion barrels of proved reserves from its oil sands holdings in Alberta.
