  • As pressure to utilise environmentally sustainable sources of Energy increases the global demand for natural gas increases, this demand is being exacerbated by growing Asian economies as they look at alternative ways of powering their economic growth. Indonesia is in an advantageous strategic position to supply this demand, due to having abundant natural resources, established export infrastructure and being geographically close to the markets.

    PT Seamgas Indonesia a JV company with PT Bumi Resources, of which is part of the Bakrie Group Indonesia’s second largest public company has been established to develop coal seam gas prospects in Indonesia. The initial short term goal is to meet local demand, with a view to export from established port networks in the longer term.

    The Joint venture is seeking a Chief Geologist that will assist in studying the most effective plan to develop their CSM permits. The first project is to core drill at the KPC mine in East Kalimantan, of which is owned and operated by PT Bumi.

    This role will report directly to the President Director and will be integral to business growth. Below is a list of desirable, but not required experience. Candidates with previous CSM experience are desired, however candidates with Coal Geology experience will also be seriously considered.
