Australia has been slow to embrace the EV market, which made up around 0.02% of all new cars sold in 2016. However, it has not stopped major investment, with supermajors investing capital here and abroad. 
 
With a global movement towards EVs apparent, executives from Graphene Manufacturing Australia, Hyundai, Petra Commodities and Renewable Hydrogen all gave their thoughts at the conference, unanimously agreeing EV had a bright future in the Australian resources sector. 
 
"We can be certain that Electric Vehicles and Zero Emissions Vehicles [are] the direction car manufacturers are heading," Hyundai GM Australia Bill Thomas said.
