World's first hydrogen train

FRENCH train manufacturer Alstom has unveiled the world’s first hydrogen-powered trains in Germany which will operate on nearly 100km of line running between Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervörde and Buxtehude, replacing an existing diesel powered fleet.

The Coradia iLint, the first passenger train of its kind, is equipped with fuel cells, is low-noise and emissions free and can reach speeds of up to 140km per hour.
