The revised program will operate out of the company's Peterhead facility in the UK and will take place under the supervision of full-time training officer Sandy Roberts.

The program offers four types of equipment that simulate discrete offshore operations.

According to Aquatic, the number of offshore employees and retained overseas contractors has grown 30% in the past year. That growth is expected to exceed 100% by the end of the year.

It said the training program was "vital for new operators undergoing such training for the first time and for more experienced supervisors who need a refresher course".

The start of the program coincides with the drive to build a more strategic kit during the year to keep up with demand. The Aquatic kit that the company expects to build includes a fully modular carousel that will be ready for service in Q3 2013, two 50-te tensioner systems and two 50-te modular-drive systems.
