According to reports, a cable snapped during the lifting operation at the Claymore platform last week, leading to production being temporarily shut down.

"There was no actual dropped object, injury to personnel or damage to the platform," a Talisman Sinopec spokesperson said.

"However we have reported the issue to the Health and Safety Executive and an internal investigation is ongoing.

"The safety and welfare of our personnel remain of paramount importance and we will investigate the issue thoroughly."
