Chemical kingpin snaps up UK shale

IGAS, the UK based shale gas hunter that gobbled up Arrow Energy spin-off Dart Energy for its promising European suite of assets, has struck a joint venture with European gas-hungry private chemical giant Ineos.

The deal is valued at $58 million (about £30 million) in cash payable to IGas on completion and involves the chemical firm funding up to $266 million (gross) of which IGas' share would be $125
