ABB to minimise UK grid losses

NORWEGIAN giant Kvaerner has awarded ABB a $US24 million contract to minimise grid losses at A/S Norske Shell's Nyhamna gas processing facility, which provides 20% of the UK's gas needs.

The facility requires capacity to compress 70 million cubic meters of gas a day, and work is under way to increase this figure to 84MMcm, allowing intake of third party gas from the Polarled pipeline....
