Halliburton merger grinds on

ALMOST 18 months after oil field service giants Halliburton and Baker Hughes announced their intention to merge the US' second- and third-largest oil field service providers, the wheels appear to be coming off the corporate marriage, potentially ending the shaky $US35 billion ($A49 billion) bid.
