Solar growth outshines alternatives

HARD-headed economists are planning for a carbon constrained future by banking on cleaner fuels than coal, with just-released US Energy Information Administration released data on planned additions to the US power grid this year showing that renewable power sources will account for nearly two-thirds of 2016's new capacity at 9.5 gigawatts.
