QGC has lodged an application with the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines for licences to construct and operate one 16km pipeline to connect Argyle and Berwyndale gas fields in the Chinchilla region and another 18.5km pipeline to connect the Argyle field to the Roma-to-Brisbane gas pipeline.

The Berwyndale field is owned by a QGC (50% and operator) and CS Energy (50%) joint venture, and the Berwyndale-to-Argyle pipeline will be 100% owned and operated by QGC.

The Argyle field and the pipeline connecting Argyle to the Roma-to-Brisbane line will be owned by a QGC (59.375%) and Pangaea Oil & Gas Pty Ltd (40.625%) joint venture. QGC is the operator of the field and will also operate this pipeline.

Consultation with local landowners and other interested groups will begin immediately.

QGC is also undertaking an extensive drilling program and has spudded six wells in three permits in the last three weeks.

Argyle-7 and Argyle-8 in ATP 620P have been completed and should start production in the next few days. Argyle-9 and Argyle-10 are still being drilled.

In ATP 610P, Bellevue-1R spudded on Monday and is still drilling. It has already collected 19 samples of gassy coal.

In ATP 648P Kenya East-1 intersected 21.5m of coal in the Juandah coal measures and 1.2m of coal in the Taroom coal measures. The samples will be tested in coming weeks to determine as contents. The well has now been suspended for later testing of coal seam permeability.

Interests in ATP 620P (the Argyle field) are QGC (59.375%) and Pangaea Oil & Gas Pty Ltd (40.625%). Interests in ATP 610P are QGC (70.625%) and Pangaea (29.375%). Interests in ATP 648P are QGC (68.75%) and Pangaea (31.25%).
