Over the weekend DST-3 was run over the interval 1734m to 1791m to test basement. Gas flowed to surface at a rate too small to measure and six barrels of oil were recovered in the pipe, according to Stuart managing director Tino Guglielmo.
“The recovery of oil in the basement is a significant outcome and gives the joint venture encouragement to pursue the basement play further to determine its economic potential,” Guglielmo said.
But DST-4, run over the interval 1705m to 1720m to test a Patchawarra sand, flowed water to surface.
“The result of DST-4 is anomalous as it appears that the test interval may have straddled an upper water-bearing zone,” Guglielmo said.
“The Patchawarra potential will be further evaluated upon completion of the well.”
Worrior-3 is expected to be producing oil by mid November. Flow lines have been laid and the workover rig is scheduled to move onto location in seven days.
Participants in Worrior-3 are Stuart Petroleum Limited (STU) operator and 70% and Cooper Energy Limited (COE) 30%.
