Crude price plunge sparks emergency OPEC meeting

The fall in the price of crude oil from highs of almost $40 has sparked an emergency meeting of OPEC, with possible production cuts on the agenda.

OPEC said it would be meeting in Vienna next week, on April 24.

OPEC president Ali al Attiyah flagged the emergency session after the price of crude slumped by 30 percent within a month.
