Garry O’Meally out of Norwest Energy; Nicole Rooke into CME; Stuart Smith into DoIR.

Norwest Energy NL advises that Garry O'Meally, chairman of the board and a director of the company, has tendered his resignation to take effect from 30 June 2003.

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) has appointed Nicole Rooke as executive officer for its Occupational Safety and Health division. Rooke will be responsible for coordinating industry-wide activities and initiatives, and facilitating communication within the resources sector on safety and health.

WA's Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR) has appointed a new executive director, Stuart Smith. He comes from his previous posting at the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources in Canberra. Smith started on June 9, overseeing the system of regulation of the State's $27 billion mineral and petroleum industry.

Santos appointed Dr Rob Heath as the company's first manager, technical, corporate exploration. Heath will focus on strategies to improve the efficiency of exploration and exploitation across Santos by improving processes and procedures, data management and the application of best practice geology and geoscience work flows.
