Global wins big GoM pipeline contract

Under the terms of the agreement, Global will install two 26km flowlines from a fixed platform in the Gulf's South Pass Block 89, which lies in water depths of 130 metres to a subsea well in Mississippi Canyon Block 496, which is 564m underwater.

Global said the first flowline will be five inches in diameter while the second pipeline will use a pipe-in-pipe system with an insulated five-inch pipeline inside a 10-inch pipeline. A common 'Pipe Line End Termination' will be installed at the subsea well end of both flowlines,.

The installation is part of the Zia Project in Mississippi Canyon Block with first production expected during the second half of next year.

Apart from pipelines, Global also dabbles in platform installation and removal, dive services and other marine support services to the global oil and gas industry.
