“[We] aim to acquire new power plants or power projects, involving some US$600 million in investment to meet [our] target of generating 1,000 megawatts of power by 2007.”

“Our main drive now will be international market. We are looking at several countries in the region. We will make some announcements later,” added Hamdan, who acknowledged the funding will come from equity and debt financing.

Ranhill, which is in the oil and gas, power, water treatment and infrastructure facilities business, is looking for both local and foreign acquisitions.
