According to Hassan, “Malaysia is to issue more production-sharing contracts for ultra-deep water blocks off the eastern coast of Sabah soon.”

“Ultra-deepwater exploration has generated a lot of interest among global companies and Petronas is looking at inviting multinationals to start exploration in this area,” added Hassan who said his company was in the process of dividing the blocks into concessions.
