Data interpretation indicates that some of the carbonates contain fractures, which Cooper said boded well for potential production.
“The potential for the formation to be productive, coupled with the hydrocarbon shows observed whilst drilling, provides sufficient encouragement for the joint venture to undertake one or more production tests in the well,” Cooper said.
Looking ahead, Cooper plans to complete the logging program by running wireline logs to a total depth of 3350 metres, after which it intends to prepare the well for at least one production test.
Information from the production test is expected to be received either at the end of December or in early January.
