Eos is a joint venture between Halliburton unit, Kellogg Brown and Root, and WorleyParsons Ltd.

Steve Evans has been appointed project manager. Peter Cox is the onshore pipeline manager while Mike Stenford is the offshore pipeline manager. Mike Mollison is the facilities manager.

The office is located at Level 5, Comalco Place, 12 Creek St, Brisbane QLD. Contact details are Tel: (07) 3811-9999 Fax: (07) 3220-3150.

McGrady said the project would place a huge international spotlight on the state’s engineering expertise and encouraged the engineers involved to do a good job and to do the state proud.

He said the FEED phase of the project had already created around 80 high-tech engineering jobs.

Last week, the AGL-Petronas Consortium (APC) called for tenders for the $A25 million FEED phase of the Australian component of the pipeline. APC was selected as the preferred developer for the Australian section in April 1998 following an international competitive tender.

The PNG Gas Project participants are ExxonMobil subsidiaries 39.4% (Esso Highlands Limited as project operator), Oil Search 54.2%, MRDC (PNG Company representing landowner interests) 3% and Nippon Oil Exploration Limited 3.4%.
