CCS research boost

CARBON capture and storage research has received a boost with the Global CCS Institute handing out funds to Australia's CarbonNet initiative and to projects in the Netherlands and Japan.

CarbonNet is a project to design, construct and operate a regional CCS network in Victoria's Latrobe Valley and Gippsland region that will capture and store 3-5 million tonnes of CO2 by 2020.
