Bass Gas weighs AWE down

AWE Limited has been hammered by cost blowouts at Bass Gas, reporting a statutory net loss of $66.5 million for the financial year, but its underlying profit was $14.8 million.

Earlier this year AWE said it estimated the total phase one costs at the project would be about $550-$580 million but the figure has now blown out even further with operator Origin Energy telling AWE
