Waste-for-power plant planned for Western Sydney

CLEANAWAY Waste Management plans to develop an energy from waste project in Western Sydney which would convert waste from local households and local businesses into electricity for as many as 65,000 homes.

The proposed facility will use red bin waste that cannot be recycled as feed stock, cutting Western Sydney's annual landfill volumes by a third, or 500,000 tonnes per annum.
