DRILLING

Mississippi comes up dry for Amadeus

Amadeus Energy suffered a setback with the Tanner 14-9 Well#1 being deemed non commercial after being drilled to a depth of 14,800ft. The operator of the project, Phillips Energy, said the well will be plugged and abandoned.

Amadeus acquired a 13.1% interest in the Chickasawhay oil and gas exploration prospect, located in Mississippi, in April. The company was contracted to spend $US91,500 for leasehold options and 3D seismic data to earn its interest.

The leasehold area covers 1850 gross acres about 2 miles to the southwest of the town of Waynesboro. Chickasawhay Creek is an isolated high amplitude salt feature, which is prospective for Jurassic Cotton Valley Sandstone and Smackover Dolomite reservoirs.
