Drillsearch maintains exploration drive

As part of its program to expand and exploit oil reserves within the Tintaburra block in southwest Queensland, Drillsearch Energy has announced a big expansion of its 2003 drilling program.

The junior explorer told the market it intends to expand the drilling program from four wells up to 11 wells within ATP299P. The current program will now comprise of three to four delineation wells and up to eight development wells.

Drillsearch said the program will target shallow Murta Formation and Wyandra Formation reservoirs of the Tintaburra, Talgeberry and Tarbut/Ipundu fields.

Santos is the operator of the permit with Drillsearch's share of production from this drilling coming on stream in the September quarter.

Drillsearch is also active in the southern Bonaparte Basin, offshore WA and last year completed around 2600km of new high resolution 2D seismic in its permits. Currently, the company is carrying out mapping and interpretation of the data.
