Perth Basin partners spud final well

THE Cliff Head joint venture has spudded the third and last well in a drilling campaign described as the “last roll of the dice” for the offshore Perth Basin project.

In addition, the partners have lifted Cliff Head oil production capacity to about 10,000 barrels of oil per day, as a result of the recent well workover completions. Actual output is 9500bopd due to current trucking restrictions.

Not far away, the Roc Oil-led joint venture is using the Premium Wilcraft jack-up rig to drill the Dunsborough-1 well in WA-286-P, which spudded on Thursday night.

Dunsborough-1 is about 25km northwest of the program’s first well, Frankland-1, which was plugged and abandoned as a gas discovery. The second well, Perseverance-1, met a similar fate.

Interests in WA-286-P are Roc (37.5%), AWE Oil (27.5%), Wandoo (24%), Arc (6%) and CIECO Exploration and Production (5%).
