EXPLORATION

Amadeus claims more Texas acreage

Amadeus Energy has continued its expansion into the lucrative US market with the acquisition of a 73% working interest in the Raccoon Bend Field.

Located 60 miles northwest of Houston the field has been subject to extensive exploration and currently contains 57 producing wells, seven injectors and 77 shut-in wells.

Up until the start of 2000 over 106 million barrels had been produced from the field, which covers around 7,300 acres. Current production is around 530bopd with existing reserves of 1.8 million barrels gross.

Raccoon Bend is a complex faulted structure with a faulting caused by a deep-seated salt dome. Productive sands occur from 900 feet (Oakville) to 7,000 (Wilcox).

Eleven further prospects have been targeted with estimated reserves of around 2.5 million barrels gross.
