Renewable investments falling

AUSTRALIAN large-scale renewable energy investment fell sharply to a near record low of $US69 million ($A92 million) in the first quarter of 2016, a year after parliament passed legislation to slash the Renewable Energy Target from 41,000 to 33,000 gigawatt hours.

According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), investment in large-scale renewables, specifically wind and solar, fell back to levels experienced during the sector's investment freeze of 2014.
