“A number of sands with elevated gas readings have been intersected within the lower Patchawarra section,” said Great Artesian managing director Ray Shaw.

“These sands will be evaluated by wireline logging to determine if further testing is warranted. Logging and possible testing operations will occur over the next several days.”

Rossco-1, an exploration well fully funded by farminees Energy Investments Limited and Enterprise Energy, is intended to test Patchawarra Formation reservoirs in a faulted anticline.

Rossco-1 is about six kilometres north of the Jack Lake Gas Field, 5km west of the Nephrite Gas Field, 8km south of the Paranta-1 gas find and 7km northeast of the Smegsy-1 gas discovery.

Participants in Rossco-1 are Great Artesian (operator) 50%, Energy Investments Limited 37.5% and Enterprise Energy N.L. 12.5%. The farminees interests are conditional upon a commercial discovery.
