Aussie juniors expect Louisiana well to be commercial

COMPLETION operations are continuing on the 24 feet of net pay in the Middle Hollywood Sands at the SL328-9 well at the Hollywood Prospect, Lake Long, Louisiana, joint venture partner Sun Resources said late last week.

Aussie juniors expect Louisiana well to be commercial

Sun and two other Australian companies, Amadeus Energy and First Australian Resources, are partners in the gas and condensate project where operator Kriti Exploration, a private US company, is running and testing production tubing.

The well, in Louisiana’s inland waterways, was drilled by a large barge rig. That rig moved off site on the weekend and a smaller and more cost-effective workover will now clean up the well, perforate the net pay behind pipe and test, according to Sun, which was confident the well would be a commercial producer.

“From nearby analogues, an expected daily flow rate of 3 to 4 million cubic feet of gas with 50 to 70 barrels of condensate is expected after well clean-up,” the company said.

“Following satisfactory flow testing, the well will be connected to the operator’s nearby gas processing facility, and sales of gas and condensate will commence.”

Participants’ interests on completion of the well will be: Kriti Exploration (operator) 55.9%, Amadeus Energy Limited 21.9%, First Australian Resources 10.2%, Sun Resources 10%, Parker Fannin Properties 1% and JVR Petroleum 1%.
