Under the terms of the deal, LRAI will provide certification services during the design, construction, and installation phases of each terminal, which will be developed by ChevronTexaco Global Gas.

In a statement LRAI President, Paul Huber, said, “This is a key project for Lloyd’s Register Americas. It positions us as a front-runner for certification services in the offshore LNG terminal race that is currently underway around the world, particularly in North America, where the demand is the greatest.”

“The work also complements Lloyd’s Register Americas’ current position with the classification of (LNG) gas ships used to transport the liquid product to the terminals, such as the ones ChevronTexaco is planning,” added Huber.
