RasGas gets new LNG tanker

The ship is the second of six acquired by Ras Laffan LNG Co Ltd and is owned by A.P. Moller and the Qatar Shipping Co.

The vessel, built by Samsung Heavy Industries, is a Gaztransport-Technigaz Mark III Membrane type LNG tanker, with a cargo carrying capacity of 138,000 cubic metres of LNG.

The Maersk Ras Laffan is under a 25-year charter agreement. In a statement the company said, “RasGas will utilise the vessel to deliver LNG from its facilities at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Ras Laffan, Qatar to [our] growing portfolio of customers serving both the spot and dedicated trade market as required.”
