Overcoming the hostile environment

A TECHNIP manager has spelled out the extraordinary issues facing Yamal LNG in the Arctic Circle, one of the world's challenging LNG projects, with temperatures hitting minus 60C, wind gusts up to 144km/hour, a lack of natural light for five months of the year and frozen seas for up to nine months per annum providing headaches for the projects developers.
