GEO 2004 Show report

Around 1,299 delegates from 120 companies and 2,267 trade visitors attended the 10th anniversary edition of the biennial high level technical conference.

Over the course of GEO 2004, attendees were treated to presentations on topics ranging from exploration and reservoir technology to geosciences information technology. There were also six keynote speakers speaking on the theme "E&P in 2020" - Mahmoud Abdul Baqi (Saudi Aramco), Farouk Al-Zanki (Kuwait Oil Co), Philippe Boisseau (Total), Tim Cejka (ExxonMobil Exploration), Robert Ryan (ChevronTexaco) and Ron van den Berg (Shell).

All six Gulf Cooperation Council state-run oil companies were represented at GEO '04. Other major companies there included BP, ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch/Shell amongst others. GEO '04 was also supported by leading international petroleum geosciences societies like AAPG and EAGE.
