Musharraf: energy supply to industry is assured

According to Pervez, “Pakistan is fully alive to energy requirements for enhanced industrial development and believes in ensuring consistent gas supply to the industry. Steps [must] be taken to bring more gas into the system to meet the growing energy requirements of all sectors.”

“Guaranteed supply of gas to the industry on long-term basis [will] bring further stability to Pakistan’s business climate and step up the pace of all-round economic development,” added the President.

According to Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Nouraiz Shakoor, “[My] Ministry [can] guarantee the supply of gas to industries for a minimum period of 10 years.”

“[Pakistan also] aims at increasing gas production from three to five billion cubic feet per day in the next 10 years,” he added.
