OIL field services giant Halliburton, which posted a 93% year-on-year fall in quarterly profit overnight, has sought a $US500 million ($A678 million) loan to advance cost-saving refraccing opportunities.
The June quarter net income of $55 million was also 9% down on the previous quarter as the oil downturn continues.
