Clough Engineering wins export award honour

West Australian contracting group, Clough Engineering Ltd, was awarded the prestigious Australian Business Limited Services Award at the 2001 Australian Export Awards held in Brisbane.

Clough won the award against 69 other finalists selected from more than 350 entries in the various state awards.

Clough is heavily involved in project service activities in Australia, Asia, the South Pacific, the Middle East, and the oil and gas provinces of Europe. The company exports turnkey engineering and construction services to industries as diverse as onshore and offshore oil and gas, minerals, infrastructure, manufacturing and property. Overseas turnover in the past 12 months has grown by 64 per cent.

Federal Trade Minister, Mr Mark Vaile, acknowledged the role of companies such as Clough and Western Australia in helping give the service industry a strong foothold in markets worldwide. "Australian exports from the service sector have boomed in the past decade and were worth $32.7 billion last year," Mr Vaile said.
