Using a progressive cavity pump, Oilex said the pump rates were varied to monitor variations to reservoir and surface pressure, with 90% of the recovered fluid indicated to be oil.

Following this flow period, the well was shut in and additional pressure build-up data is being recorded.

Data collected will be analysed to determine reservoir and oil properties for this DST interval.

Once testing is finished, Abraj rig will move to the Ghadaq-1 well site, the second of the three exploration wells planned for the current Block 56 drilling program.

Oilex holds operatorship and a 25% stake in Block 56, while partners Videocon and GAIL also have 25% each, and Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum each have a 12.5% stake.
