Samuel Gillespie has been appointed as senior vice president, chief legal officer and general counsel of Unocal. Gillespie succeeds Charles Strathman and Timothy Thomas who have been serving as chief legal officer and general counsel respectively.
Novus Petroleum announced that Catherine Friedlander has resigned as secretary of the company. Elaine Connor and Robert Williams continue as secretaries.
Indo-Pacific Energy has appointed David Newman and Peter Tapper to the company's board. David Newman is taking up the position of Chairman, held since midyear by Bernhard Zinkhofer, who continues as a director. Newman enjoyed a 22 year career with British Petroleum, culminating in four years as CEO and managing director of BP New Zealand Ltd.
Carpathian Resources has appointed John David Hopkins as a director of the company. Hopkins has a background as a corporate and resources lawyer and is currently the lead non-executive director of Evans & Tate Limited.
