Malaysian output increases

Malaysia's 03/04 Economic Report has revealed that the country has seen higher oil and gas produc...

That's not all, though. In the final tally, oil production is expected to increase by another 2.4% - and reach an average total of 716,000 barrels per day. Gas production could be increased by another 10% and reach a total of 5.6 billion scf per day.

The latter is dependent, however, on the anticipated increase in both external demand and a higher domestic usage brought about by a revision in international gas prices.

The report said country is also initialising plans to diversify its energy resources - via the fuel diversification policy - through the use of oil, coal, gas, hydro, biomass, biogas, municipal waste and solar energy.
