The Worrior, Christies and Sellicks oil fields have all contributed to this new peak in production, and production will increase even further once the Arwon oil field is brought onstream, according to Cooper Energy.
“The Arwon-1 well in the Arwon oil field is yet to be brought onto production and the joint venture prtners are currently reviewing the plans for this field,” the company said in a statement.
Cooper Energy says the high production is expected to continue for the rest of the financial year, but trucking in the Cooper Basin was forming a production bottleneck. Various joint ventures in the area were reviewing alternative routes, including installation of dedicated pipelines, to alleviate this problem, according to Cooper Energy.
“With oil still continuing to sell at high prices and current production levels, Cooper Energy is currently fully covering its administration, business development, exploration, development and production costs,” the company said.
