Zephyrus-1 was spudded on March 21, but on March 27 drilling was halted at 777m when the Harriet JV had to evacuate all personnel due to the approach of Cyclones Floyd and Glenda.

The well intersected a nine-metre gross oil column in a small four-way dip closed depositional mound in excellent quality Double Island Sandstone, according to junior partner, Tap Oil.

The well is being cased and completed for production from the Agincourt Platform. Production is due to start early next week with an initial rate of about 4000 barrels per day, according to Tap.

Zephyrus-1 was drilled from the Agincourt platform as a deviated well to a planned total depth of 3720m. The bottom-hole location is about 2.5km south-east of the platform.

The Harriet JV comprises Apache Northwest (68.5%), Kufpec Australia (19.2771%) and Tap (Harriet) (12.2229%).
