PRIME minister Scott Morrison has used a speech at the PerthUSAsia Centre in Perth to defend his government’s climate and energy policies before he jets off to the UK to attend the G7 summit, where he is likely to face further pressure to ramp up efforts to reduce emissions.

He will fly to the "G7 plus" meeting in Cornwall, where he will represent Australia as a guest along with India, South Korea and South Africa.
