Australia set to pass landmark carbon capture and storage laws

GOVERNMENT legislation to allow the injection of carbon dioxide (CO2) into empty reservoirs offshore Australia for permanent storage was introduced to the Senate and is set to pass with support from both Labor and the Opposition. Significantly, it is a rare example of collaboration between the Liberal-National Coalition and the Labor government.
