Fueling tanker market turnaround

LNG shipping volumes for last year appear to show the global trade going through a surprisingly quiet patch. However, if the recent bid for LNG shipper MISC by Petronas is any indication, the sector is poised for a sharp turnaround. By Gomati Jagadeesan

According to analysts, global trade in LNG actually fell last year to 283.3 million tonnes. This was only the fourth time that global LNG trade has fallen year on year.
